A Little Bit on Binary Digits

There are 8 bits in one byte; this is because binary numbers double. 1 , 2 ,4 , 8 , 16, ect. Hence forth there are 8 bits in one byte; if there were more it would need to be 16, or less at four. When typing out one character, it will be equal to one byte of space. This is because binary codes are in strings of eight, and that string is used to make up the decimal code that tells the computer what you’re typing. 1 = 00110001 = 1 byte.

P2P File Sharing: Can You Live With It?

Napster was made by a young buck named Shawn fanning. He started this little company to share information, cds, pictures, and so forth among some of his close friend. However this back fired on him when over 9000 people had the program within weeks. Very soon some of the big honchos in the music bushiness caught onto this. They quickly set up legal actions ageist the creator of napster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napster http://www.napster.com/about_napster.html Downloading is the new thing. If we weren’t downloading from the internet, say music, we would just be tapping it off of the radio. When confronted with the question “you wouldn’t download a car would you?" Well, i sure would if i could.

OS Pros and Cons

The OS I use at home is Windows Vista, and Windows XP. They are both pretty well thought out operating systems. School work is easily accomplished with the Microsoft Works utilities, Gaming is also good on the XP operating system. Even though i am a casual gamer I do enjoy the casual game of online checkers.

On the other hand the constant error messages that arise while using them can be some what of a bother. Some times if you want to just play a quick game of checks, you can never find another person to play against. "Are you sure you want to do this" is also one more thing I’m sure everyone who’s has Vista also has against it.
